SOLVANG

  • Shop at our many wonderful gift stores
  • Take an evening stroll around Solvang and window shop
  • See a play at Theaterfest - June through October
  • Visit Ingeborg's for authentic Danish Chocolate
  • Spend a day golfing at the River Course, then have lunch at The River Grill
  • Take a scenic walk up to Nojoqui falls
  • Browse for a book and have coffee at The Book Loft. Check out their antique books upstairs.
  • Take a walk and enjoy the beautiful gardens and unique Danish architecture
  • Enjoy a massage at Storybook Inn
  • Try a different Danish pastry at each of the local bakeries
  • Rent a bicycle at take of tour of Solvang
  • Try some Danish aebleskiver at the Inn and watch them being made in the kitchen
  • Visit Hans Christian Andersen Square
  • Visit The Western Wear Museum, showcasing all kinds of western gear and clothing. By appointment only (805) 693-5000
  • Visit Hans Christian Andersen Park. The park includes tables, BBQ area, play equipment and tennis courts.
  • Take a tour of the Mission Santa Ines. Don't miss the lovely gardens and stations of the cross
  • Check out the Solvang Chamber of Commerce for the dates of our next annual Danish Days festival in September
  • Attend a concert in Solvang Park
  • Take a horse drawn carriage ride around solvang
  • Visit The Motorcycle Museum on Alisal Rd.
  • Take a stroll through Bethania Lutheran Church
  • Then go across the street to the Lutheran Home and look at the Danish Windtrap
  • Try a Danish open face sandwich at The Bit O' Denmark or The Little Mermaid
  • Have a chocolate covered banana, carmel apple, or any of their other yummy treats at The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

SANTA YNEZ

  • Visit the airport and take a glider ride
  • Have a coffee and dessert at The Roasted Bean
  • Tour the lovely shops
  • See the gallery/wine tasting bar behind the Boutique Anna for a new experience
  • Picnic, hike, take a drive or bike on Figeuroa Mountain
  • Go the the Chumash Casino and try your hand at gambling
  • Try some line dancing and karaoke at The Maverick Saloon, or sit and have a drink and celebrity watch
  • Take a sightseeing tour
  • Visit The Gainey Winery and ask about their concert schedule
  • Eat at one of the several great restaurants in Santa Ynez. Our personal favorite is Grappolo, but The Vineyard House is excellent as well
  • Visit the Historic Carriage House Museum, full of western paraphernalia

LOS OLIVOS

  • Take the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail. The drive is beautiful, and if you feel inclined to do some wine tasting, there are several wineries located on the trail
  • Order lunch at Panino and picnic at one of the wineries
  • For delicious pizza, pasta, and salads, etc., have lunch or dinner at The Los Olivos cafe
  • If you want lots of charm and atmosphere, have dinner at Mattei's Tavern, a 120 year old stagecoach stop
  • Visit Historic Ballard and make sure to stop and take a look at The Ballard School, an original red one room school house
  • Cafe Chardonney or The Ballard Store are excellent choices if you decide to have dinner in Ballard
  • Visit one of the tasting rooms
  • Take a look at Quiksilver Ranch on Alamo Pintado Rd., home of miniature horses
  • Visit  J.Woeste, an unbelievably wonderful garden and gift shop
  • August thru October, stop at one of the apple orchards along Alamo Pintado Rd.
  • Visit some of the unique gift shops
  • Visit the wonderful art galleries
